Gas Plant Piping Jack Maintenance Solution

In a recent project to remediate coatings under pipe supports for a major client, Vertech introduced the use of a combined alternative access and lightweight pipework jacking system. The system removed the requirement for large and expensive scaffold and reduced the requirement for prohibitively heavy and cumbersome conventional jacking systems or large crane utilisation, which is often the case when carrying out such remedial works.

The lightweight jacking system used was hauled easily with limited manual handing and installed in piping racks by a multi-disciplined IRATA rope access team comprising of a mechanical fitter/rigger and a two-man painting and blasting team.

On this project, Vertech’s ability to think outside the box proved very valuable for improving productivity while improving safety and decreasing costs significantly.
